She Might Say Yes is really a meditation on the universe of responses a guy could get to the question, "Hey, do you want to go out sometime?" While I drew some lyrical inspiration from both Bob Dylan and Jimmy Buffett, neither of them are to blame for the final product. A hat tip is also due to Nolan McKelvey, an outstanding songwriter and musician who I first heard use the term "sensitive singer-songwriter" during a songwriting workshop at Pickin' in the Pines, the annual bluegrass & acoustic music festival in Flagstaff, Arizona. That expression finds a home in this song. One other note: Please don't shoot the recording engineer. He owes the bar too much money.
